Boosting the Economy

The California trucking industry accounts for one-third of jobs in California.

The California Trucking Industry is a crucial part of fueling our economic success by providing jobs and transporting goods in and out of the state.

In 2015, one out of every 20 jobs in California were in the trucking industry. That means there were more than 680,000 jobs with an average salary of $51,299. With more than 100,000 trucking companies located in the state that number will continue to grow.

In addition to providing jobs, more than 80 percent of communities in California depend exclusively on the trucking industry to transport millions of dollars in goods and commerce.

Each hour, approximately $4.7 million worth of goods is transported on the Interstate 80 corridor, a number that increased during the busy holiday season.
